Health and social care is a very demanding and rewarding environment too work in but can also be very challenging, at London Nursing Home we always look for the professional approach. We take recruitment very seriously at London Nursing Home as we find the service users are normally the most vulnerable in society, so we take the upmost care in being professional. There are many different job roles and finding the person with the right skills and commitment will be an asset to the business. As care staff at London Care Home you could be spending a lot of time on a one to one basis, so making sure the recruitment process
is done right and we follow all procedures legislation and policies is most important and cost effective in the long run finding. the best and right people are vital Legislation: we would have to follow all legislation which would be the Equality Act, data protection 1988 and most importantly the disclosure and Barring Service to make sure the person that would be offered the job is suitable and had no restriction or any criminal convictions and to make sure that they were able to work in England.
As in selecting the right person for the job we’ll also have to ask for their work experience and checkable history, then we would have to do group interviews (to see how they work with others) ability testing, personality of the person would have to be a factor, structured interview management interviews, service user interviews where appropriate and once the short listed had taken place. A job description and ongoing training once the candidate is successful in employment
We would also have to check out policies and our own policy should be readily available, as well as making sure that we use equal opportunities and equality and diversity policy.
Also, we would have to know hours the individual would be required to work, pay, benefits like gym memberships, holiday pay and if the job would be a full-time or part-time contract.
