1 Are educational and career goals different or the same? How? Is it essential to set educational and career goals? Why or why not? Educational and career goals are different because educational goals are geared more towards expanding knowledge, while career goals focus more on a particular job field and work experience. They are the same because they both work together to increase productivity and success rate. It is essential to set educational and career goals because it can help an individual to support themselves and establish an identity in the world. The best time to plan your career goals is while young. Those who set off into adult life without clear goals often go adrift and end up making decisions such as having children, getting married, or taking jobs that limit their opportunity. In such cases, time starts working against you making setting and achieving long term goals more difficult but not impossible another reason youth seem to benefit from pursuing educational goals is time. With many careers requiring postgraduate degrees just to get started, people in their 50's and beyond are challenged with the ability to complete their educational goals with enough productive…
My academic long-term goal is to not stop educating myself once I receive my degree but to continue to educate myself on my trade rather it be thru workshops, people around me, or even the students I teach. My short-term academic goal is to go hard or go home. What I mean…
My short term goals include getting my Capstone Diploma, maintaining good grades in my academics, striving for success, and graduating high school. Striving for success is essential as well as graduating high school, but I feel like they are less daunting than the other two short term goals I have. Getting my Capstone Diploma will be a challenging road. It is not easy to achieve what the College Board requires for in that class, but I know that both the teacher and my determination will guide me through in order to accomplish my goal. And as for maintaining good grades in my academics I will have to turn in everything on time and study the material given in the course in order to grasp my goal. For long term goals I want to become a successful electrical and computer engineer. I know this goal will not be easy, but I feel like I have the determination and confidence that it takes to reach my…

My short term goal for education would be to stay in high school and finish all four years then graduate. Not all of my family members graduated from high school except my aunt and I look up to her. I know it will be hard because I’m not an A, B student. I’m just average but I can change that and I know I am capable to do that since my grades are looking a lot better than before which makes me super proud of myself. My short time goal for employment is to find one during the summer because I need to stop asking for money from my family, I feel needy, I want to make my own money, do my own thing.…
My professional goal is to become a teacher with hard work and dedication I know I can reach my lifetime goal. For my extra-curricular activities, I have attended the Head Start at Brookhaven Community College where I have volunteered over thirty hours in a semester to get myself prepared for the profession. Going to the local Head Start gave me the opportunity to see if this is really what I want to do for many years. I put myself in a position where I actually enjoyed what I was doing, I had patience which a lot of people don’t have to teach younger kids. I worked with three to five years old, I had to show them I was the leader. In my four years of High School, I have taken my time out to be a leader in my school. I was vice-president freshman…
My long term goal was to from Oklahoma State University with a BS in psychology. I wanted to achieve this goal while also enjoying my college experience by finding a balance between my social life and school work. The short term goals that I was able to accomplish since part I and II of the Goals Assignment were studying, going to sleep earlier (not staying up extremely late), and going home less often.…
I have worked in career field for twenty years. I still have career goals and I have hit a ceiling due to my lack of a degree. I want to further my education and continue to advance in career. Part of me feels that I am to old to get my degree, but I have decided that I can do this, I can get my degree and now it's about me succeeding educationally. I want to complete school and have a degree. I want to know that I can achieve my dream of graduating from college. I realize that I am never to old to reach my goals. I want to go back and graduate so I can say that I am a college…
Pursuing a master’s degree is a responsibility I owe to myself as well as a commitment I have to others. I call it a responsibility because I have an enthusiastic outlook on life, which makes me relentlessly find and pursue the things I want to achieve. I call it a commitment because I want to be an illustration to others of what hard work and dedication can achieve.…
My short term goals are to graduate high school, remain in the top 10% of my class, and make sure my long term goals are going to benefit myself and others. Those 3 have always been on my mind since junior high. They help me know who I want to be in the future and how I plan to get there. Accomplishments are apart of any human beings life. Striving for the best is always the key to my endeavors. I want the best not only for myself but also for my family. This will help me perform well with my long term goals and even event more.…
Graduating with an 3.5 GPA at the age of 23 is my long-term academic goal. Even though a 3.5 GPA sounds like im not striving high enough, this goal is very important to me meanly beacause during high school i always set myself with a 2.0 GPA which is an letter C grade average. By me setting it to an 3.5 is a high limitation for me. Passing development 1 math final exam with an letter grade B is my intermediate academic goal. Although its my intermediate goal its an very important one, because in order for me to move on to math development 2 i have to pass the final with an letter grade B or A. Passing all of my classes in fall-term is my short term academic goal. By the end of fall term i expect my GPA to be an 3.0 nothing lower. I plan on working hard and studying everyday for atleast 30 minuntes to achive this goal.…

Lifetime goals are the goals that you set for yourself to have a successful future. Right now I am currently in AP Psychology and I am aiming to be a psychologist in the future. That would be my lifetime goal, to be able to help people understand what is going on in their head and how they can control their thoughts. I would be honored to be able to attend your campus for a chance to study psychology and major in the field. I’ll be honest, when it comes to work I don’t like it but I’ll do it because no one else is gonna do it for me and I have to be responsible for myself and my grades. My grades are almost always A’s and B’s, sometimes they fall dramatically but I will always try my best to bring them to the best that they can be. When I…
