Pursuing Career Goals
Pursuing a master’s degree is a responsibility I owe to myself as well as a commitment I have to others. I call it a responsibility because I have an enthusiastic outlook on life, which makes me relentlessly find and pursue the things I want to achieve. I call it a commitment because I want to be an illustration to others of what hard work and dedication can achieve.

My short term career goal is to continue where I am until I graduate and learn as much as I can from those around me. I find that the people around me at my current jobs are very intelligent and it would be wasteful of me to not learn what I can from them before I move on. My long-term career goal…

Ever since childhood there have been many hopes and goals for the future. Along with these two were aspirations. There was always hope for something. I could not imagine that one day I would have to tie those hopes into my future. I thought my hopes were just silly childhood dreams that would eventually fade away as the years would change. For hours I would just sit and ponder over different things. Adults would say things like “What do you hope to become when adult hood is reached?” My reply would always be “I want to be a Master Chief of Cooking.” Thinking it would just happen when I reached the “golden” age of eighteen, I never once thought about how I would become a student that learning dance. However, the older I became, the more I thought about hopes.…

If on one hand competition and cost economics are spreading insecurity in jobs and on the other hand competition and evolution of new industries which were nonexistent a couple of decades ago are opening a plethora of opportunities for the individuals to choose from. New opportunities and accompanying threats make the job markets extremely unpredictable. In such an uncertain environment, it is ultimately the responsibility of the individual to decide and make choices to pursue a desired career. Personal ambition coupled with emerging business trends are increasingly shaping the career choice of the people.
