When Alaska’s mother was alive she used to smoke. In the book, Looking for Alaska, Alaska admits, “all smoke to enjoy it. I smoke to die”(44). In other words, she love smoking and will smoke until she dies. Also she emphasizes, “ I may die young. But at least I’ll die smart”(52). What Alaska is claiming is that if she dies she will die satisfied. Alaska had problems in school of smoking around the school. She got punishment of smoking. The day Alaska dies she was drunk and she took the car and commits an accident. Alaska wanted to go home but her friends told her like “Don’t drive. You’re drunk” or “This can wait until tomorrow” they wanted to convince her to don’t drive because she was drunk. The day after the Eagle to all the students “Alaska was in a terrible accident...Alaska has passed away”(139). All the students didn’t say any word for a moment the Eagle said this in a school gym where he called everyone to know what happened to Alaska last night.
