Also, I would like to discuss my degree program, and how my goals fit the SMART goal process. Included is my accountability plan to prepare to overcome challenges that I will most likely face during this journey. In addition I will attempt to explain how positive experiences I have endured in life as well as my unique personality can help ensure my future success as an online student. I am currently attending Ashford online university to successfully strive towards achieving my long-term academic goals that I have set for myself.
MY SMART GOALS
As I move forward and venture into my future, I see and recognize the things I need to accomplish, as well as where I hope to be in the next 20 years. A personal goal I have set for myself is to have a successful career as a psychologist or author after the military. In order to accomplish this I must work hard and stay focused on the goals I have set for myself. First I need to achieve my degree in both psychology and sociology within the next five to six years, by gradually progressing through my degree courses and requirements. I have decided to take one course at a time in order to have a realistic goal to progress towards. Upon successful completion of each and every course, I will have progressed three credits closer towards my goal but I must remain consistent. Consistency is an absolute necessity for my career advancement and for further achieving of my goals. In order to accomplish my professional goals, I must strive and stay focused on earning degrees in both sociology and psychology. I know and accept that it will not been easy task to achieve but it will be a rewarding worthwhile accomplishment. “Setting SMART goals” will be important to maintain my health and well-being but also to be realistic in accomplishing

The academic pathway I will follow begins with an Associate in Science in the Traditional nursing program from Valencia College and I plan to graduate at the end of the fall semester in 2019. Then I plan to transfer to UCF to earn my Bachelor’s of Science in nursing in the ASN to BSN program. Graduation for BSN will be after the fall semester in 2022. After I achieve my BSN I will begin working for two years and then I will attend graduate school at the University of South Florida in the Nurse Anesthesia program in Spring of 2025 and completion will be after the spring semester of 2027. This goal is important to me because it paves the road to the future of my life. After about 20 years of school work in my entire life, all the headaches, stress, essays, and projects, that relate to school will all come to an end. Throughout the journey of academics, I will derive my motivation with mental self-questioning of “Where am I headed?” Focus is one of my strengths that keep me on my path and never let me forget my purpose. Bad habits, such as procrastination, will work against me in school. Taking the initiative by using an agenda, and putting away distractions will allow me to overcome my…

The regular person has many goals and aspirations. If you have ever been in an interview, the interviewers ask a series of none profession related questions. As for myself, I have been asked the question as, where do you see yourself in five years. It has always been a personal challenge to answer the question, maybe, lack of prioritization of my life’s goals. After some research, having a vision statement can assess the most desirable futuristic goals in life. I have been working on my five year plan for almost one year, but I have chosen the broad aspect of my future instead of the details. My opinion of a vision statement is the where, what, and how of your future. The three questions are “where do I want to be in five years”, “what am I currently doing for my future”, and “how can I accomplish those goals within five years”. There have been many studies and endless rows of books regarding the five year plan. Everybody has a different interpretation regarding the five year vision statement. Many do not care and others care too much.…

    A look into the future

It all happened so fast. The smell of gasoline intoxicated my lungs as it spread through the air in the dark night sky. My vision was impaired as the blood from my forehead trickled down my face into my eyes. It was almost impossible to move within the confines of that metal death trap. Any movement insured glass and broken pieces of metal would pierce my skin adding more agony to the pain I was already feeling. All of it was a big blur, really. As the smoke started pouring inside of the vehicle it was becoming even harder for me to see, let alone breathe. It was as if everything that could have gone wrong that night indeed happened to me all at once. I was on the edge of panicking. Panic and fear are two very different things. If I had caved into the panic, that would have meant certain death. I was trying not to let the panic overcome my fear. Fear is what keeps many of us alive. Still stunned at what just happened, the only thought I had was, “I need to get out”.…
