There are many cases where the boy won’t follow rules and won’t even listen to each other. For example, Piggy said “This is 'jus talk....I want my glasses.” (155). They were getting so crazy that they had to steal Piggy’s glasses. That’s how desperate they were and they couldn’t come together as one to solve the problem. In addition, it was said, “Maybe there is a beast....maybe it's only us” (80). There were so paranoid that they were becoming their own enemy. They thought one of them was a beast. For example, they said, “Kill the pig! Cut his throat! Kill the pig! Bash him in!” (104). Jack was gonna kill the pig but at the end got scared. However he wanted to be their leader but the showed fear. In addition, “Ralph...would treat the day's decisions as though he were playing chess.
