Apple is the world’s largest manufacturer of the smart phones known as iphones. It frequently launches its new version after every 2-3 years with much improved and latest features for the consumers every time. It is a market leader in iphones and other products like ipads and ipods with almost 50% market share in US itself. Since the launch of its first version in June 2007 the sales of iphone has increased from 0.27 million to 31.2 million till Q3 2013.
However despite being a market leader in the smart phones market across the world, iphone is facing a major challenge in the Indian Market :
Market share of iphone is very low in India (around 3% only) : iphone lies at third position in the indian smart phones market with a market share of around 3%, followed by Android (91%) and Windows phone ( 5%).
