Here at Riordan Manufacturing we strive for employee satisfaction. It is important to know what makes our employees the most productive that they can possibly be. We initially administered self-assessments to help determine the different characteristics of our employees. The results of the assessments help us better understand our employees and from that understanding we also develop several strategies that will help us as employers motivate our employees to reach the goals of the company and to help us make sure that our employees are satisfied with their quality of work. Recently we took a closer look at three of the employees that are currently under the direct …show more content…
supervision of Jessica Carroll. We are setting a motivational plan. This plan is devised to help Ms. Carroll not only, understand what motivated her employees, but how to help keep them motivated and moving in the most productive direction. Sebastian Dunn is one of Ms.
Carroll’s employees that took the assessment. Mr. Dunn is intelligent, upbeat and detailed oriented. We determined that the goal setting theory would best suit the traits of Mr. Dunn. According to this theory by setting a clear and challenging goal. Setting a complex goal and allowing sufficient time and resources Mr. Dunn will receive feedback and recognition from Ms. Carroll. This is meant to increase Mr. Dunn’s productivity by challenging him and allowing him to see that his efforts are not over looked by management. Lauren Godfrey is the next employee that we are setting up a motivational plan of action for. She displays leadership and is confident and autonomous. She likes making her own choices and with giving her freedom to do this the results have always been in the company’s best interest. We have decided that the self-determination theory will work well with her characteristics. Ms. Godfrey is motivated by knowledge and independence and allowing her to gain mastery over challenges. Ms. Carroll will offer unexpected positive and encouraging …show more content…
feedback. Brenden Charles is the last employee that we have set fourth a motivational plan of action for.
Mr. Charles is hard working, modest and honest, he needs to know that he is working for a purpose and that there is some type of payoff in the end. We looked at the cognitive evaluation theory for him. This theory assumes for Mr. Charles that he will be motivated to engage in behaviors because of the attraction to the rewards. Ms. Carroll will set goals for Mr. Charles and increase his motivation by praise and certificates for reaching his goals. Success of reaching all goals in a six month time period will place Mr. Charles in the position to earn a raise. The progress of all of these plans will be reported to and followed by upper management. Ms. Carroll has been made aware of all the steps set fourth by the company to help increase the productivity of her employees and is more than capable of helping lead her team to the goals that have been designed to help this company become a powerhouse for the future.
