“What is a Magnet?”
A magnet is a piece of iron and it has its own component atoms. One magnet can attract other iron, ore and even alloy. But the objects have to be containing one of those materials so it an come together. If two magnets align it it is considered to be called a magnetic field. Compasses are used by magnetic fields coming from the North and South Poles. The way magnets come together is magnetic pulls. Examples have you ever tried to push two magnets together? Usually they go to the right or left. That is because there are magnetic fields pushing off of each other. If you just lay them down next to each other they will connect because you are not putting any force on the magnets when just lay them down. My teacher once told me that if you try to connect magnets they are not going to work because it is like tow volcanos trying to be in the same place.
“What is a Ball-bearing?” …show more content…
A ball bearing reduces friction.
They are metal balls that are also magnets. There is a bearing in between a fixed axle and a wheel. A rotating part also a stationary part by a ring shaped objects which again reduces friction. Ball bearings are used for many different things like hard discs drives and electric fans. They are made of four major parts. The four parts is the outer ring, a cage, steel balls, and an inner ring. The cage is used to keep the balls from hitting each other. Leonardo Da Vinci created ball bearings around the 1500’s to lower the amount of friction against axles for horse drawn carts. For over 500 year ball bearings have been defined by their simple structure. The function that ball bearings are supposed to be is to facilitate smooth rotation and reduce friction of an
axle.
“What are Magnetic Fields?”
Magnetic fields are spaces around magnetic materials. It is an also moving electric charge within the force of magnetism acts. Magnetic fields have areas that objects exhibit magnetic influence. Magnetic fields can affect other objects that are near or around them which is called magnetic field lines. , magnetic objects always attract items. They can also push the items away. Magnetic forces are not and will ever be related to gravity. Magnetic poles are the points that magnetic field lines start and end.
That was all of the research that I did for “The Magnetic Riffle”. So I learned that magnets are made of iron. Ball bearings where invented by Leonardo Di Vinci. The last thing I learned was magnetic fields are not related to gravity.
