Government Grants
The Organization is very well organize they have generous donations that individuals donate , plus they have corporate sponsorship that helps to fund them so they make more than they really would get if they were funded by the government.
They do not use this type of funding because of the fact that they have to file an IRS Form 990 or 990-EZ it depends on whether they have more or less to file. They make all their revenue available for anyone to see if the need to.
Foundation Grants The reason that the foundation wants this money is because this is where most of the money does come from also they offer grants, scholarships, and this helps the children to be able to get the wishes they do wish to get. This helps to pay for the trips they give the children and this helps to pay for the medical needs of these children. Thy don need the Grants because they give them to the individuals that need them they make enough money that they are able to be a sponsor like that. Therefore, they do not need the grants the company’s that help them offer them to the family’s …show more content…
needs.
Private Giving They do want to keep this money as well because many of the donations that individuals give are a substantial amount and it helps pay all the other expense that the organization has to cover.
They also pay the employees and offer them a great substantial benefit package but they do not employ but a few people because it is not a job. They do take private donations from other individuals. That is one of the reasons their considered a nonprofit organization.
Social Enterprise-Earned Revenue They want to take this money because the more sponsorship that they get the more children they can give a wish to that they so well deserve. Instead of giving a child a wish every 40 minutes, they can maybe give a child one every 20 minutes instead. Because the more money they earn the better the child wish will be. The only reason that I would see that the organization would not want money coming to them from any organization is if the company had a bad reputation. Alternatively, that the corporation is not planning to make it an ongoing affair but that should not be an
excuse.
Make-A-Wish Foundation Revenue Matrix
How has the way in which nonprofit organizations acquire funding changed over recent years? What implications do you see this having on the organization you have analyzed? Consider who is giving to organizations and the criteria that must be met to obtain funding.
Well this particular organization does not go from home to home or ask for donations. Where as many organizations do. Though the people who do the fund raising have to find the income from somewhere and when anyone hears that it’s to help children they are out there ready to pitch in were ever the need is. The way I see it the organization that I have analyze here had the right idea going on from the get go and they have been so successful for so long. That I do not believe they have not ever been able to meet their funding obligation.
