The restored behaviors contribute to Schechner’s theory as they are used to mark, frame or heighten the performance. With the medium being live and the audience close in proximity, restored behaviors of stomping/ marching and shouting can be more heard. The specific medium and Schechner’s concept of restored behaviors, allows the characters roles in the performance to be more effective. The relevance of Goffman’s theory to this performance is the influence in which it has on the audience and participants. For example, with the “death” of the performer, there is the influence of severity in which the situation they were trying to display was to the audience. Through a series of opening and closing of the curtains to having the audience then witness the “death” behind the white sheet, showed relevancy to the state of the narrative to engage the audience. Witnessing in my case study investigation, these adaptations are just regenerations of the same idea and that each adaptation is slightly different than the other. Also from the reading of Cusic and Faulk and my case study, I have gained the knowledge of the chain of high corporations which overrule the smaller corporations. Furthermore, I now understand that major corporations such as Disney actually owned television networks and even radio stations as well. In the end of the semester I learned about how reality competitions were just staged events in which the producers just formed to make a product that would be the most interesting to the audience. Popular Entertainment is controlled by many aspects and is solely determined by the audience on a performances popularity. In all, it is clear that there is a lot of effort and strategy to put together a performance whether it be looking at the Nielson ratings or popular votes of Peoples Choice.
