Although I dropped out of school at the age of 15, I educated myself throughout my time in prison. I studied Elijah Muhammad, who was an advocate and teacher of the Nation of Islam. When I was paroled, I taught and promoted the principles of the Nation of Islam. I became the national spokesman’s helping increase the membership from a couple hundred to around thirty thousand. I also aided in the establishment of various mosque around the country as well.
I preached the self-empowerment of blacks, which persuaded them to view and embrace their own power. I inspired millions of people to act and defend themselves
