These settlers, even though they had an immunity, still carried this disease around with them and when a Native American tribe came into contact with the people carrying these diseases, entire tribes were wiped out (Carpenter 108). Slavery is an industry that started long before America was colonized and how we dealt with it is very similar to how we dealt with the American Indians. We thought that because everything was going so smoothly for us, colonizing America, we were naturally in the right. Therefore, our countrymen decided that they could do whatever they wanted to because white men were superior. As a Christian, I know full well that this is wrong and I am happy to say that brave men fought against the beliefs of slavery and won out. They thought it was our destiny to control everything that we saw because nothing bad was happening as a result of
