Lily Kanter and Marc Sarosi
Lily Kanter is CEO of Serena & Lily, a “lifestyle and accessories” company based in Sausalito, which she co-founded with textile designer Serena Dugan in 2003.

Lily opened the store after an eighteen-year career business and technology, primarily in management positions at Microsoft, Deloitte & Touche, IBM and Microsoft, where she created the its first flagship store in San Francisco and was its business manager. Lily worked at Microsoft for five years, during which time the value of her stock doubled and then redoubled. When she left Microsoft in 2000 to start a family and devote more time to volunteerism and philanthropy, she was a "multi-millionaire."

The company has also supported many non-profits and has donated money and gemstones to various to The Zambian Children's Fund, Gemological Institute of America, Jewish Family and Children Services and Homeless Prenatal Program. Marc lived in Zambia and travelled throughout gem producing areas of Africa for seventeen years, before founding Africa Gems in 1997.

In FY14, it awarded total of $84,060, $67,060 of which went to the Cambodian Children's Fund, where Lily has served as a board member for over a decade. The rest of its gifts were $10,000 or less. The two largest of these were $10,000 to Jewish Children's Service and CoachArt, non-profit that creates a transformative arts and athletics community for families impacted by childhood chronic illness.
