It’s my birthday today, I’m finally turning 18! I’m really excited to see what we are going to do for my birthday, but i mean, i can’t really expect much because like i said before we barely have any food. On people’s birthdays we usually have a “feast”, but since the taxes raised we can’t really do anything this year. My mom is really mad because she wants to do something special for my 18th birthday, but she can’t because we don’t have enough money to buy bread and other stuff. My mom yells “im tired of King Louis XIV raising the taxes”! “How does he expect us to buy anything to support our families”! It wasn’t just my mom that was mad it was every other mom too, they were all frustrated because …show more content…
they weren't able to provide for their families. My mom and 6 thousand other women marched including me, because i’m another person that helps clean and cook for my father and my brothers in this house besides my mom. While we were marching i can feel the anger in the air. we have marched 13 miles in the pouring rain from Paris where i live…..to Versalles.
It was very tiring but it was worth it. The anger was mostly on Queen Marie Antoinette because she shouldn’t spend all her money on parties and other stuff when she knows we are trying to support our families. She’s selfish and uncaring. She could have stopped the rise of taxes but she didn’t, all she did was put herself in debt, and now she’s making us pay for all her expenses. We arrived at the palace, yelling and protesting. we are yelling “ stop rising taxes”! “we want bread for our family”! “we need to support our families”! Waving our pitch forks, pikes and muskets in the air we charge. We broke into the palace and searched for the queen. We wanted the queen to face us alone. For a long ten minutes waiting for her, she peeks her head over the balcony and looks down at us with confusion. Everyone including me screamed, some people even pointed there muskets at her. They demanded for King Louis to give bread to them. The next day the king and queen were held captive from the third estates. Finally the king gave in and had to promise to give the women the bread, and also lower the cost on it. He wasn’t happy about his promise to us, but now we are happy it’s for the better. All of us arrived back home with food to fill our tummies. i will never forget that birthday because i turned 18 and also
got food for my family. I will never forget….
