Defendant Marcus Brutus is a murderer and based on the U.S. text, there were other ways the defendant could have handled his situation. Good afternoon, my name is Imani Griffith and I am one of two prosecutors in this case. On March 15, 44 B.C., the defendant, Marcus Brutus and his conspirators, were involved in the assassination of Julius Caesar. At the conclusion of the case, we would like you to say that the defendant is guilty. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, this is a case about the defendant taking responsibility for his wrongful actions. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the prosecution will call four witnesses to the stand. We will call Mark Antony who was the best friend of the victim to discuss their friendship and his views on…

Brutus was a man of honor. His nobility shaped every decision he made. Renown for his nobility, Antony labeled him as “the noblest Roman of them all.” Out of all the conspirators, Brutus was the only Roman conspirator to die in honor for Rome. Meanwhile, the others did it for power and complacency, Brutus knew that Caesar was a big threat to Rome and was scared that once Caesar was crowned, Rome would fall.…

In this case it was Mark Antony. The series of events that led up to the final reveal of the play all showed that Brutus was not going to win . When the people of Rome started to rebel it showed Antony gaining power. Then when Antony’s army wins it shows that no matter how much you try the good always wins. And finally Brutus killing himself shows that everything works out the way they should. Antony didn’t end up killing the other conspirators because he believed that they didn’t do anything wrong and they were just under the influence of Brutus. He knew that deep down they were good people that loved Caesar, they just let their minds get the best of them. In the end Caesar's death was avenged and Rome’s peace was restored to what it was before. Although there are many lessons you can learn from this piece, these are a few main ones. Good will always outweigh…

In each of Antony’s speeches, he displays a type of poetic eloquence that causes them to be beautiful as well as effective. In his eulogy of Caesar, Antony claims to be a “…plain blunt man…” (III. ii. 212), but we soon find this to be far from the truth. Antony later uses metaphor to tell the people that if he were a good orator as Brutus is, he would raise the people up against the conspirators. He does this by saying “But were I Brutus, and Brutus Antony, there were an Antony would ruffle up your spirits and put a tongue in every wound of Caesar should move the stones of Rome to rise and mutiny.” (221-225). His use of figurative language here subtly yet adequately shows the people his desire for their support against the conspirators. Antony…

Marcus Brutus’ plight is ultimately a decision to save a republic that involves sacrificing its soon-to-be dictatorial leader, with the conspiracy taking into consideration the pros and the cons of such an act.
