a) Phonological skills demonstrated by Mark;
During the conversation with the mother, Mark is able to identify and is very aware of sounds in language, tries to make a sentence with phonological structures like “me got wutt”. This is an indication of phonological awareness while talking. The child is able to follow the simple rules of sound system by making sounds that convey the message or equal to the real meaning of the word. For example, he talks of “tar” while meaning car. Mark is able to express what they want to the mother and is able to make some complete words for example, “mum” and “me”.
Mark is also aware of rhymes in language, for example, he says he wants “bitty” meaning bikky or biscuit; this …show more content…
On the other hand, syntax is following the rules that govern the word combinations while forming phrases and sentences. In the conversation, Mark is able to identify and make words that are very correct for example “mum, me, ooh” this is a show of understanding of some morphological rules governing English language. When he asks about a biscuit and the mother seems to decline, mark is able to create a syntactically correct sentence by saying “ohh wanna bitty”, to a great extent the sentence follows the rules of grammar. While also trying to answer where the car is , “tar dere” the order of words in this sentence is correct , lacking only the articles “the” its then true to say that mark exhibits morpho –syntactic skills while speaking and expressing himself to a great …show more content…
He also responds to the questions and attention of the mother. Mark has also developed non-verbal language expression which is very vital in little or developing children, for example crying when they want something, when the mother insists that they will not have the biscuit, he starts to cry and further more cries lauder when the mother says no. marks is also able to respond to questions when they are asked by the mother, for example when the mother asks where the car is, he answers both in words and expression by pointing where it
