Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision has changed the world in a major way. In fact anyone who’s been in or been through elementary school in America has likely heard of the name Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As we go through School, were taught about his famous ‘’I Have A Dream’’ speech and we gain better understanding of his impact on civil rights in America as whole.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a major part on civil rights, Dr. King played a part in many well-known civil right movements in the 1950’s and 1960’s. A major part of Dr. King’s vision, besides racial equality, was the idea of non-violence, he refused to use be violent in any of his protest, and taught those following him to do the same. Dr. King followed the principles of Gandhi, who was also a major activist, he used many different ways in which revolutions could act nonviolently to achieve peace or change. His ideas were used in Dr. King’s belief and behavior and was a major influence on society at the time. When protesting the police didn’t hesitate to use violence against demonstrators and protester, but Dr. King was example of quiet civil resistance. The use of violence against the protesters caused the police to lose their power. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was greatly responsible for the passing of the civil rights act and voting act for African American law, so that African Americans could not be treated separately from whites.
