Mary Oliver Monologue
“The men from the Silver City barged in and grabbed the father and his children.” “‘Where is the woman that was with them?’ Asked one of the villagers.” “‘I checked already, she was dead on the ground, so I didn’t bother.’” “‘Pardon my boys! Just take me!’ The father was now Bawling on the ground, begging for mercy with both boys in either arm.” “William screamed and screamed while tears ran down his cheeks. ‘Father, for the first time in my life I feel pain. Father! For the first time in my life, I’m hungry. Father… Mother is dead! Father. You idiot! Look at what you’ve done, is this what you call happiness!!’ Oliver is holding his father’s other arm crying ‘Momma, Momma!’ over and over again.” “Now more than 20 people were surrounding …show more content…
Keep them alive long enough to make them suffer!’”
“‘Listen you jerks!’ Screamed one of the men.”
“‘My daughter was only five when she accidentally wandered across the path of one of the Golden Gods. But just for that reason, they killed her!’”
“An older man fell down to the ground with only a wooden cane in his hand. ‘I was once a slave owned by the Golden Lords.’ He tilted his head towards the light and put his hand over his eyes. ‘And my eyes… Only because I admired their beauty, they found it as an insult for someone so low to even look at them! Just for that reason they gouged out my eyes and tossed me out the gate, laughing while I stumbled trying to run away’”
“‘Give me back my wife!’ Said a man towards the back of the crowd.”
“In all of the chaos, William looked down and saw one of the villager's pistols lying on the floor close to Oliver’s foot. He reached out and took the gun. He pointed at the sky and shot twice. Everyone got quiet.”
“William pointed the gun at one of the villagers, and then swung it around. ‘If you don’t let us go I will shoot!’ Everyone took a step

‘... a father like me.’”
“‘Aaaagh!’ Screamed William. ‘Click, boom!’”
Father, I don’t like this story. I wait for pa to answer, but he didn’t. I look up and see who he really is. He has the same tall and slender body, the same kind face, and the same crying eyes as the man in the book. I push the book, now sadly laying on my lap, to the ground, and in front of me I see a mirror. I have the same blond hair and the same brown eyes full of hatred as the boy in the book too. How can I not remember! I look up again and father is gone. I look to the side and see Oliver.
“How could, h-how could you have k-killed father!” His voice shakes while he talks. I look down and see the same gun I found on the ground in his hands shaking along with his voice and then I hear the same “Click, boom.”
Everything is black. I can’t hear, taste, feel, smell, or see anything. All that’s left is nothing.
My eyes blink open wildly while my chest violently rises up and down, faster than ever. I’ve had this dream so many times it’s almost easier to count the days I haven’t had it. I sit up from my old raggedy mattress, only to find a pool of sweat in the shape of my back

According to Richard Palmes, he asked the Captain if he intended to fire to which he replied "by no means" (Wheeler and Becker, 86). Another witness, William Wyatt, who was also very close to the disturbance, alleged that the mob was yelling fire and Captain Preston did reprimand his men for firing without his orders (Wheeler and Becker, 83). James Woodall confirmed that a stick causing the soldier to instantaneously fire struck a soldier. He ascertained that the Captain did not give the order to fire (Wheeler and Becker, 88). Consistent with all the testimonies, Edward Hill observed the Captain ordering one of his soldiers to put away his gun stating that he "have done mischief enough" (Wheeler and Becker,…

On the night of the massacre the mob of armed people were protesting in King Street and about one hundred people start to head towards the Custom house where the king kept his money. Captain Preston the commander of the British troops during the Massacre stated," After I reached the guard, about one hundred people passed it and went towards the Custom house where the king's money is lodged." This brought imminent danger to the British because one hundred armed Patriots were in front of the place where the king keeps all of his money. The Soldiers just wanted to do their job by keeping the Patriots in order and keeping the King's money safe without hurting anybody. Another quote that supports that the Soldiers were just doing their job was in Richard Palmer's account and it states,” When I had got there I saw Capt. Preston at the head of 7 or 8 Soldiers at the Custom house drawn up, their Guns breast high and Bayonets fixed.” This also shows that the Soldiers just wanted to do their job by protecting the King’s money that was in the Custom house. They also had their bayonets fixed in front of the house which means their guns were up held high and not ready to fire. Both of the evidence from the testimonies show that the Soldiers just wanted to do their job by protecting the King’s money and not injuring anybody.…
