The soldiers open fire to the town people spilling cold, crimson blood all over the streets. “ Damn you, Fire, be the consequence what it will! One of the Soldiers then fired, and a townsmen with a cudgel struck him over the hands with such force the that he dropt his firelock; and rushing forward aimed a blow at the Captain's head which grazed his hat and fell pretty heavy upon his arm.” So the soldiers started to shoot people and kill them for throwing snowballs, that is just ridiculous! They didn’t need guns to solve the problem.
This event could have been avoided easily and even if it did escalate to the point of all the townspeople throwing at the soldiers, they didn’t need guns to solve anything. They could have been the bigger man and stepped away, but no they had to shoot and kill four people. “ the Bodies of Samuel Maverick, James Caldwell, Crispus Attucks, and Samuel Grey…”( The Boston Gazette). Even though I believe that the soldier had done much, much worst in this massacre, some believe the teens started it. They state that the teens had no business messing with the drunken soldier, or that they throw snowball at them, but I say that the soldiers had no means getting drunk and having a weapon and much more evidence proves that the soldiers had done worst.
