Their writing styles dissagree because of their professions. William was a Seperatist leader and was trained in law. Most of his writings were elaborate and dealt with the preservation of God's providential care. John, like William, was a preacher who wrote weird sermons of damnation which were to persuade and inspire his congregation into a life of godliness. Mary's narritive explains
her struggle to survive when her familys lives were taken by Indians. On the contrary, Anne was the most light-hearted of them all. Bedridden she wrote poems about encouragement and hope.
The most outstanding themes for these authors are Gods presence in their lives. How can they serve him? How has he lead them through struggles and help them be optimists. Bradford and Winthrop were both ministers therefore they almost begged their followers to live a Godly life. They also encouraged others to do the same. Anne wrote about all the wonderful things that God created and Mary wrote about his helpfulness
