Results have been mixed with one study indicating parents say that there is improvement of impulsivity and improved performance on an attention span while the other is improved classroom behavior. The use of yoga is a corresponding treatment to medication for behavioral problems and ADHD.
The study found that despite randomization, there is a considerable difference between yoga and a control group. The participants improved their behavior, but may have been due to the medication the children were receiving, rather than from the program. Children between 5 and 6 years of age that were diagnosed with ADHD and cooperative for yoga where included.
