When considering the variable “Arrests” I begin by questioning is this information based on words or numbers. In this case it is based in numbers so it is not Nominal. Then I look to the order of the data to determine if there is a true zero, in this case there is not (Walker & Maddan, 2013). As I understand the concept you cannot live somewhere for zero amount of time. This leads me to chose Interval as the variable type because it is based in number order and there is a quantifiable order to the data, 1 month is less than 3 months which is less than 240 months. The interval is there in the measurement of months but without a true zero it falls short of
