Mba - Answering One Question of an Application

•Which aspects have you improved on during your academic and professional career so far? Which tools or values have helped you achieve this? (*) During my academic career I have mainly improved on teamwork, since all my classes involved team work, and since I was a member of the junior consulting club for 1,5 years, and how to make presentations in front of an audience, exposing my ideas in a clear way. When I studied for six months in Sweden in 2004, I was able to improve my capacity to adapt to new cultures and circumstances, along with interpersonal skills and independent thinking. During my professional career, I have improved my analytical ability, since now I try to understand but not necessarily accept everything that comes from others. I have become a smarter professional, learning to respect hierarchy and at the same time be a “politician” in maintaining my workplace relationships. Most importantly, I have strengthened my willingness to strive for ongoing improvement in order to stand out from the others and learn as much as possible. I always believe that my work is good but that I can do it better or differently. I have also improved my ability to prioritize tasks, which is important nowadays in a competitive market where everyone is overworked. Finally, I have worked on my listening skills, which are so important for leadership, and in parallel, my focus on results aligned with the company strategy, vision, and mission. The values that have helped me to improve myself are ambition, since I want to learn more and do my best in everything in order to further my career, open-mindedness to listen to new ideas and discuss the best solution to a problem, commitment to my goals, pro-activity to predict the boss’ needs and do tasks without his/her solicitation, energy to not get comfortable in my career and always try to do the things in a better way, and flexibility to adapt and be effective in very diverse situations and with different groups of people.
