Executive Summary
“Leadership Development Plan”
On a course of time, the role of a project manager is evolving very rapidly. Now, project managers are not evaluated solely on their expertise in their respective discipline but they are also judged on their leadership traits and attributes. This requires a great emphasis on the personal leadership development of project managers. In due course, the development goals that I have set is to further develop my passion for learning and commitment, being a proactive person and a leader rather than reactive, and the development of adaptability in diverse and complex situation and circumstances.
In order to accomplish my set goals for my development program, I have formulated a certain action plan that will facilitate me in the future. Initially, I have decided to take part in several leadership workshops. These leadership workshops are conducted all over the world under the guidance and supervision of trained instructors and with the material that is specially designed to bring and instigate the leadership traits in a person. With the help of these workshops, I would expose to the opportunity to learn and acquire new skills and attribute that are required for being a good leader. Hence in that way I should be able to further my passion for leadership and learning because the workshop will provide me with the expertise to uncover and elucidate new situations and queries.
The second step in my action plan is about becoming an efficient and effective team member; this will be achieved by having my presence and participation in frequent work related projects. My participation in that working group will not be as a leader but as a team member because in order to become a good leader it is very important to become good, effective and efficient team member. At present, by participating in any project as a team

“The very essence of leadership is that you have to have a vision. It 's got to be a vision you articulate clearly and forcefully on every occasion.” — Theodore Hesburgh, President of the University of Notre Dame. In the beginning of this course I was frightened by the work load of weekly discussions, discussion modules, papers due the same week as modules, but I completely enjoyed every minute of it. Yes that opening sentence is extremely long, but it is consistent with the course workload. This course is very business healthy and organized with an approach of reinforced course work load to keep us in tune with the topics of leadership. The book for the course is very detailed as well and is consistent with the lectures and modules. I will go into detail about the information that benefits my professional outlook for leadership and following that will be my opinion personal leadership skills. All in all, the course is designed to provide professionals and managers with a broad understanding of leadership concepts, theories and the skills necessary for practicing leadership in the global economy. The course focuses on a variety of techniques/applications for assessing leadership competencies and generating actions plans for applying leadership skills. It Emphasize on the requirements for effective leadership in multi-cultural organizations and the development of personal leadership skills.…
