Me ! Collage Journal
An introduction of Me! Collage Journal To start, there are two sides to my Collage –blue and pink, my favorite colors (I know, they are girly, but I like them.) On the pink side, I have a cut out a piece of a map. This is because I collect/horde maps. I travel all the time, and when I started to collect maps, I thought that they would be cool souvenirs from where I have been for wherever I am going. On top of the map, I have a CD to basically say that I also collect/horde CDs. The sticker of the polar bear is actually from a set of Christmas stickers. I am a firm believer that Christmas is, in fact, the most wonderful time of the year. I enjoy the snow, the warmth of being with family and friends, and sitting around in PJs all day …show more content…
the little girl is my little sister, I did not take a picture of a complete stranger –I am not that weird.) The larger picture of the two little girls is my sister and me. She is my closest and best friend. We have stuck together forever, and we will always. The three other words, "laugh!" "Imagination" and "home" are there to describe me some more, obviously. I love to laugh, and no one could ever make me stop. I enjoy the fact that I am easily entertained by the most twisted of humor, or by stupid puns. I think that my world would be duller if I were not. I also pride myself on my imagination. When I was little I, like most kids, had imaginary friends, but to an extent that always made my mom a little uneasy, like the time when I tried to open the back door in the dead of night so that my friends and I could have a tea party by the light of the refrigerator. "Home" is because I love being home though admittedly home is stretched thin by the fact that I know how to make my home anywhere I am. My home consists of many towns and cities throughout the continental Midwest, reaching into the southwestern regions of America. Finally, on the pink side, there is a short line of music, this is because I play the violin and double bass, and also because, as I have previously stated, I love …show more content…
I like them all because they make me think and have a different perspective on life, or they are a different way of saying something that I did not have the words for. The bookmark, as well as the word "books" is to state once more my passion for books. Like my quotes, books make me look at the world differently, or sometimes they are the best for making me laugh or cry. The tiny picture of the couple is my mom and my stepdad Sean. They are a huge part of my life. The photo right under that is another one that I took. I know, it is not much, but it is one of my favorites. The clipping of a flower is because I like flowers (No way). The word "color" is because I like color (I know, so vague.) I like how color adds depth and beauty to the world and makes it brighter and bolder. I like how it can say a thousand words or only one, which is also why my room's theme is "rainbow" (which might only be my family's nice way of saying nothing matches.) Basically, I do not think I would enjoy living in the world from The Giver. All the pictures of the random people are my friends. I love these people for who they are, and they make my life more enjoyable (this is also my explanation for the word "friends".) As for the stickers, the Christmas tree is there for the same reason as the polar bear on the pink side; I Love Christmas. Finally, the birds are because I am a bird. I do not stay in one place for too long

The brown is a reference to land. Without land human civilization would not exists, for where and how would we live? As land is the foundation of human civilization, so is domestic labor the foundation of many families, for how would some families accomplished anything. Many families need someone to work at home because of childcare, socioeconomics, or it just is in the best interest of the family. The bright orange is a reference to the sun. Her bright, orange dress means that she is the sun in this painting. The sun provides warm and energy to our planet, and without it, Earth would be an ice ball, the end of human civilization; thus, without the nurturing of homemakers most homes would fall apart causing society to collapse. By placing the mother and child in the center of the painting, Hooch states that domestic labor is vital to the survival of this family; thus, merits recognition. The benefits of domestic labor are seen through the clean, orderly, and bright house. Domestic labor is important for without this homemaker this house would be a disaster because although running a house appears easy, it can be very difficult. Homemaking is physically draining, time consuming, and a specialized job when balancing the needs of a household. Running a house is far from being a series of simple chores, it is one of the foundations of society, for without of the homemaker other family members…

“Baby Makes 3” gives people a sense of tranquility and felicity. “Baby Makes 3”’s beautiful scene consists of three men’s lovely faces, visional background and warm colors. These three lovely men are all filled with happiness; however, they still have their own characteristics. The man in the low right corner is looking squarely into our eyes with wide eyes. His mouth is slightly upward raised. I do not know whether he is a little worried or surprised. But I can see a turmoil inside, which is filled with liberation of human nature. The man in the middle is smiling confidently. It looks his eyes is holding something, which really moves me. I suppose it might be a type of relief for being understood. The man in the top left corner is looking into the distance with a big smile. His eyes gleam with a constant delight. His expression gives people a sense that everything looks hopeful. But we cannot see a line of white teeth from this big smile. It seems there is something he cannot tell. This leaves me more imagination. Behind three men, it is cloud that looks like sweet marshmallow. There are also a bed, three comfortable pillows, and a soft blanket in the sky. Three lovely men are at ease in the bed. They are like to live in paradise, quiet and happy. As for the color, there is a balance of colors. And the color tune is warm. Their faces are ruddy with satisfaction. The pink blanket is warm and sweet. The white clouds and pillows give people the spirit of tranquility. Overall, “Baby makes 3” make me feel quiet and warm. I feel the warmth of…

They all symbolize time moving by with nature. This is giving the readers a theme, nature always has to do with the cycle of life, so when repeated, it is as time moves on people live and die, which brings us to another possible theme of love/life/death, The phrase “with up so floating many bells down” (2, 24) is repeated twice. At first it is difficult to figure out what “bells” mean, later I figured out that they represent Anyone and Noone’s wedding and, also later their funerals. They found love and then they both died. The other people in the town went on to live their life that never goes anywhere, they do not remember Anyone or Noone, because nothing matters to them.…

We have the bible, pictures of the school, the Episcopal and American flag, and a icon. The bible symbolizes the christianity of the school, and shows our love for God. The pictures of the school will show the future people what our school looks like, and will provide some pictures that will be very valuable in the future. We put the Episcopal flag in the time capsule because we are an Episcopal school. We want the flag to be one of the most important things in our time capsule. We also put the American flag in the time capsule because we are proud to be an American school. The icon was done by our incredible art teacher. It took her very long to finish, but we were all very amazed by the beautiful and sacred…

In this quote, Chief Bromden says, “I been silent so long it’s going to roar out of me like floodwaters and you think the guy telling this is ranting and raving my God; you think this is too horrible to have really happened, this is too awful to be the truth! But, please. It’s still hard for me to have a clear mind thinking on it. But it’s the truth even if it didn’t happen.”(Act 1 32) Chief Bromden, a long-term patient in Nurse Ratcheds psychiatric ward, narrates the events of the novel. The novel begins as he awakes to a typical day on the ward, feeling paranoid about the nighttime activities of the wards three black aides. We are given this brainteaser from chief Bromden. The reader has already gotten a glimpse of Bromden’s paranoia, from the novels opening lines, as well as a sense that he is not seeing things from an everyday perspective. For example, Bromden describes Nurse Ratched transforming into a huge machine, and he has to be sedated when the aides try to shave him and he starts screaming, “Air Raid”. In this story, he claims himself not only the narrator, but the author. He has an important story to tell, even though it’s going to be hard for him. The last line of this quote is Bromden’s request that the reader have an open mind. His hallucinations imply that the audience shouldn’t believe everything he says in the novel. In my opinion, I believe that Bromden regains sanity, but he still witnesses many events while he is hallucinating.…

Evil has existed in the world since time began. While it is inherent in everyone, some find enjoyment in its effects while others simply cannot find the means to break free from it. In Joyce Carol Oates, “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?” evil reveals itself as Arnold Friend, a character consumed by wicked thoughts and desires. Arnold pursues a young girl and convinces her through slick conversation and frightening insinuations that there is no other option than to surrender to him, thus sealing her death. In “A Good Man is Hard to Find,” by Flannery O’Connor, the character the Misfit, an escaped convict, happens upon a family that has just wrecked their car. Because he needs items they have in their vehicle and because one of the family members recognizes him, he sees no alternative other than to kill them. Both of these characters exemplify evil, but in two distinctly different ways.…
