Abstract
In this paper I will explore the subject media and the effect on today’s society. The research information was gathered from two websites. The role the media plays in delivering the media to the public is an important fact covered in this essay. The significance of news media on culture and society is huge and changing from day to day. The social responsibility the news media has regarding ethical and legal compliance online. A few of the key supporting thoughts are as follows. The different forms of media and the various delivery methods to the public. The advantages and disadvantages of modern delivery. The changes in the media over the last century. A few other topics covered in this paper include how culture is reflected in movies and TV. The relationship between TV and movies and culture and the most influential and important games released to the public within the last few years. Another thought covered in this essay is the controversial issues over modern electronic games.
Media and the Effect on Today’s Society
You are the news director of a local television station. The city council has just voted to close city parks three days a week to save money. Meanwhile, a major celebrity has died. The park story has greater effect on your viewers, but the celebrity death will get bigger ratings? Which do you make your lead story and why?
The news story based on the three parks closing should take priority over the celebrity dying. The park story does have a greater effect on the community. It affects schools, churches, and families. These groups count on the parks for recreation both for students and for their own families. Many families and individual will spend money in the community and then enjoy their food while visiting the park. Without parks available, the local restaurants suffer the loss of business. It affects jobs
