The key conflicts in “Melting Pot” are exterior, while “Seventh Grade’s” conflicts are interior. In “Melting Pot” their conflict is that they can all get along with one another unless it is to complain about something. “Seventh Grade’s” conflict is about how Victor is trying to get Theresa to like him.
In “Seventh Grade” the conflict is Victor’s internal struggle with himself about his love for Theresa. Read Victor’s lovesick thoughts about her. In the end Victor dose know that he loves Theresa. So, I’d have to say this conflict had a winner, and the winner was Victor.
“Melting Pot” has an external conflict with the groups of people that inhabit the area. Like the conflicts with the Newcomers and the
