Then I realized, it was not any of my business to be intruding on his personal life. Because he made this statement, I left with a blank answer in my mind. It felt as if he left me to “fill in the blank”, and so I did.
A few days after this answerless experience, I ran into Melvin coming from his “alley hideout”. I tried to stay where he couldn’t see me, but that didn’t work, at all. He practically ran towards me with, what looked like, his head held high like a giraffe. As we walked down the 20 or so blocks we finally came to a “box fortress”. This “fortress” was very well built, saying that it was made of cardboard.
