because of the various parts that are include when discussing a topic this vast. Criminal behavior is an act that is committed when there is opportunity and motive. This definition fits perfectly to the offender that is discussed in this piece. There are various variables that builds criminal offenses, one of them is the natural factor. Natural variables are personas introduced during childbirth. A great many people who perpetrate wrongdoing are hereditarily disposed to in the long run carry out wrongdoing. Lombroso stated that a person can be born criminal, he argues that wrongdoing has organic roots.
“Biological factors can be defined as anything that impinges on the conception to birth” (Kaiser& Rasminky, 2010).
It is technically anything that affects the inner part of a human. Anything that affects the innate part of an individual determines the individual’s behavior. technically people find virtually impossible for a person to have developed traits of criminality from conception. Biological researchers express that criminal behavior is initiated by a characteristic imperfection in an individual make up. Therefore if an individual has a flaw in their biological development that can lead to them committing a crime. An example would be brain abnormalities. “The serotonin system, the dopamine system, and the noradrenaline system make up, the three major monoamine systems in the brain” (Abrahamsen, 2014; …show more content…

Some of biological characteristics are genetic and inherited, they are an aftereffects of qualities and people get these from their folks at the season of origination. While some biological characteristics are developed as a result of a person’s environment. “Even though biological factors don’t necessarily cause crime but they do increase the likelihood that an individual will engage in criminal behavior” (Abrahamsen, 2014; 10). Neurotransmitter are the key tool that that contributes to an individual’s functioning. According to (Cherry, 2014), “Neurotransmitter are chemicals that allow for the transmission of electrical impulses within the brain and are the basis of brain processing of information”. In Moses Sithole case the brain played a huge role in the result of his further killings after his first murder. Had this perfect scenario in his head that he wanted to perfect in reality, this caused him to keep murdering and raping these women to perfect or correspond reality and imagination.
“Serotonin inadequacy is regularly a supporter of state of mind issues.
Serotonin is critical to our sentiments of satisfaction and imperative for our feelings since it safeguards against both tension and despondency” (Seo & Kennealy, 2008). Serotonin is key to our feelings of happiness. One could say that Moses Sithole suffered from serotonin deficiency, he stated in his interview that being hurt was a norm to him day in day out. Being happy was not part of his emotion, being abused, shifted to an orphanage and losing his father at an early age condensed any feeling of happiness in his life. Seo & Kennealy (2008), outlines that neurotransmitter carry’s signals between brain cells. Child abuse can cause low serotonin,
I
It has this instance Moses Sithole did experience abuse at a young age, and abused females that become bad mothers had suffered from lower serotonin in their brains. People who show deficiency of serotonin are violent, and impulsive murderers
Berridge & Robinson (1998), state that “dopamine is involved in behavioral activation, motivated behavior and rewarding processing. It also plays a role in the variety of aggressive behaviors”. Dopamine plays a role in the brain and body. Its function is to send signals to other nervous cells and controlling the release of various hormones.
In understanding Moses Sitholes criminal actions, we need to understand what motivated these criminal offenses he committed. Motivation of course is about knowing you could do something, for Moses Sithole he knew that he can over power the women he raped and killed because he trained himself as an amateur boxer, in this he gained strengthen that can overcome any being. According to Murphy (1985) “Motivation is the outcome of a process in which a goal is formulated, costs and benefits are assessed, and internal constraints on behaviour are applied.
It is important to look at crime in a social phenomenon. Certain people commit crime because of the circumstance of where they are socially placed, some offenders are an outcome of the environment they live under, and unemployment one of the social factors that contributes to criminal behaviour. If people were employed they would have no time to plan and carry out their criminal activity
