Merritt Smith's four-year-old daughter was hit by a boy at school. The boy hit her so hard that it broke her skin. Merritt decided to take her daughter to the hospital. When Merritt checked her daughter into the hospital, the receptionist told the girl that the reason the boy hit her was because he liked her. Merritt was disgusted by the comments. She could not believe that the receptionist, who is a man, would say something like that.

Mr. Robinson para. 122 I am not prepared to find beyond a reasonable doubt that Mr. Robinson was on the ice as it was not logical that three Tiger-Cats defencemen would be on the ice in the last minute of the game when the Tiger-Cats were down by two goals. The trial judge takes judicial notice of hockey strategy and uses it as her rationale for dismissing the testimony of Mr. Robinson. The belief that he would not be on the ice at this point in the game is wholly speculation.…

Today was the day of the Dred Scott case. I was very nervous for what would happen. I’m from Illinois which is known as a free state. And I traveled to Missouri to get the insider about the Dred Scott case. I believed slavery was morally wrong and want it to end more than anything. So I’m completely on Dred Scott’s side.
