1. Different Genres of Metal Music 2. American Writers and Poets
I feel either one of these topics would work well because I have a great love of music.
Through my life since I was nine years old, I have seen a lot of Rock bands perform and have felt a close connection with them through their music.
When writing I prefer to brainstorm, because I think about how the reader would get the most pleasure and knowledge from my story. My wide range of Genre make me a true music lover and very knowledgeable on the history of music.
Brainstorming enables me to envision a scenario in my head on what the reader will get the most enjoyment out of reading. It allows me …show more content…
to get an idea on what will work and what wont. I put myself in the readers eyes, this gives me the best insight. The topic I am leaning towards more is on Metal Music Genres, because this was my first love. I will explain the different types of genres, where they originated from, and their influences of other bands that influenced their style of playing.
Venom formed in 1979 out of Newcastle Upon Tine, England. Their style was thrash, Death, Black , Speed, and Heavy Metal incorporated into one solid sound. Members consisted of Cronos vocals and bass guitar, LaRage guitar, and Dante on drums. This is an example of one of the bands that I listen to and highly recommend somebody who is into any genre of metal listen too. Here is a list of their albums: 1. Welcome to Hell -1981 2. Black Metal – 1982 3. At War with Satan – 1984 4. Possessed – 1985 5. Calm before the Storm – 1987 6. Prime Evil – 1989 7. Temples of Ice – 1991 8. The Waste Lands – 1992 9. Cast in Stone – 1997 10. Resurrection – 2000 11. Metal Black – 2006 12. Hell – 2008 13. Fallen Angels – 2011
Some people being of religious faith and beliefs would find some of these album titles offensive and the lyrics are of a dark nature. Venom is still together as a band and still tours and does festivals, such as Wacken Open Air:
And another Metal Festival is Bloodstock:
In the past Venom’s played Bloodstock Festival and many other venues across the world.
There is so many genres of Metal that I believe not all can be written about in one essay for it would certainly be more like a term paper, but this is something I want to write about, my love for Metal music and its different genres and bands. I would like to dig up an interview I did via by Windows Messenger I did with my friend Jeff Becerra from the Death Metal band Possessed
Jeff Becerra was the first to coin the phrase “Death Metal” and joined the band in 1983 on bass guitar and the band put out several albums: 1. Death Metal (demo)-1984 2. Demo- 1985 3. Seven Churches – 1985 4. Beyond the Gates – 1986 5. The eyes of horror – 1987 6. Resurrection – 2003 7. Agony in Paradise – 2004 8. Ashes from Hell – 2006 9. Possessed by Evil Hell – 2007
Jeff played bass guitar and did the vocals on all the tracks and Possessed toured the world playing different venues. Tragedy took a turn for the worst in 1989 Jeff was shot in the back and robbed, which left him paralyzed and in a wheel chair and unable to play bass anymore on stage. He still tours and is also President of the CDMM –California Death Metal Militia for this group is all over, world known, there is one in New York which is NYDMM and some are bikers and musicians.
