Methodology is the study of methods and the underpinning philosophical assumptions of the research process itself (Wimmer & Dominick, 2014). It also means a system of methods used in a specific area of study or activity to carry out a research. Methodology study consists of two main elements that are quantitative and qualitative approach (Henry, 2012). Research is known as an attempt to discover something. It can be conducted in either a very informal way such as a few or no specific procedure or it can be formal which follows particulars and concise procedures (Wimmer & Dominick, 2014). Scientific method is frequently used in research to come up with an objective, unbiased collection and evaluation of data. Scientific research consist of an organized, objective, controlled, qualitative or quantitative empirical analysis of one or more variables (Wimmer & Dominick, 2014). In carrying out our research on knowing how media violence may contribute in influencing the behavior of young adults in Malaysia, we have decided to use quantitative research. Quantitative research is a formal, objective, systematic procedure that numerical data are used to attain information about the world. The research method is used to define the variables and to study the relationship among the variables. This enables to determine cause-and-effect interactions between the variables (Burns & Grove, 2005). Besides, quantitative research can be done in a short period of time. Unlike qualitative research there are more procedures that needs to be considered and it is more time consuming because an interview of a minimum 30 minutes is needed to be conducted among a few selected people from the focus group. To proceed with the quantitative research, we will be conducting surveys. Before conducting the survey we have set an amount of 20 questions for our questionnaire. Within the 20 questions we have divided the questionnaire into a few types of questions which includes multiple
