Recently, President Elect Trump criticized numerous car manufacturers for deciding to create plants in Mexico instead of in the United States for taking jobs away from hardworking Americans. He even proposed imposing higher tariffs to cars being imported from Mexico – risking the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) (Nelson, 2017). If President Elect Trump were to go through with his plan, it could affect trade agreements with not only Mexico, but all other countries. As major western powers begin to shift their values they could bring in a wave of reforms. Several western leaders want to see their country progress and see the rise of their hardworking citizens that for too long have been cheated. In the near future of 2030, it is quite possible that most countries will be in the hands of populist autocrats and rightist (Buruma, 2016).
