Indeed, the Virgin of Guadalupe is highly esteemed among Mexicans. Mexican women venerate the Virgin Mary during their pilgrimage to the Virgin of Guadalupe basilica in the Mexico City. In the meantime, the Virgin of Guadalupe is associated with different miracles. In the lives of Mexican women the Virgin of Guadalupe plays varied roles. In fact, the Virgin of Guadalupe is considered as a transformative energy. To Mexican women she is the provider of strength, hope, and the incentive needed by women to transform different situations in their lives in the Mexican society. The Virgin of Guadalupe exists in suffering with her son in her hands hence she provides an example to Mexican women who suffers and struggles to help
her children grow and provide him/her a good education. Certainly, as in some communities Mexican women face inequality in their society. Some women in Mexican societies are faced with even violence in their family. In addition, women do have difficulties developing their full potential within their society and even their families. Religion is truly an expression of particular people at a particular place and time. There are also special prayers or masses, and many religious activities centered on the veneration of the Virgin. Religion is also joined to varied struggles for people’s lives in Mexico.
