In order to capital my strength in area of self-monitoring skills, I will set SMART goals to myself. That is goal that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timed. Studies has shown with the setup of SMART goals, it will direct my attention, increase my effort, give me persistence and lastly guide me to be specific about my plan(Latham&Locke, 2007). This ultimately motivates me and increases my chance of success with the plan. Further more, I would like to adapt the concept of Small Wins which is breaking a large task into small detail components. Studies has shown by adapting Small Wins strategy, it consistently motivates people through showing them progress thereby induct consistent high performance(Vervoort, 2012).According to the book Organizational Behaviour Understanding and Managing Life at Work, networking can be break into the following five component maintaining contacts, socializing, engage in professional activities, participating in community activities and increasing internal visibility(John&Saks, 1996). The plan I will be adapting will focus on only maintaining contacts and participating in community activities since other activities is only achievable once I land my job. For maintaining professional contacts, I will go to one of the networking events offered by school, workplace or CMA organization once every month and follow up after a day or two. For people who are willing to respond to my follow-up, I should establish contact with them. To do so, I should go through my professional contact list every week and send my greeting to 1/12 of my contact lists. Therefore I can go through the entire list every three months. In terms of community activities, I should participate to these volunteer events sponsor by the large corporation such as CIBC Run for the Cure once per month and establish contact with important people I meet. That way, not only my plan is specific, measurable and timed, I am also able to track
