Explain any 3 major elements of “lean management” that were discussed in class. Contrast the 3 of them to the so called traditional approach. Which one of them that best applicable to a firm in Kuwait? Please explain:

Lean management is an operation system that maximizes the value added each of the company activities by removing waste and delays, there are 3 elements:
1 kaizen which is the term to process improvement. The key to kaizen understands that access capacity or inventory hides underlying problems with the processes that produce a service or product. Lean system provides the mechanism for management to reveal the problems by systematically lowering capacities or inventories until the problem are exposed. For example, the water surface represents service system capacity, such as staff levels. In manufacturing, the water surface represents product and component inventory levels. The rocks represent problems encountered in the fulfillment of services or products. When the water surface is high enough, the boat passes over the rocks because the high level of capacity or inventory covers up problems. Through lean system, workers, supervisors, engineers, and analysts apply this method for continuous improvement to demolish the exposed rock.
2 Pulling versus push. Pull method is a method in which customer demand activities production of the services or good. Push method is a method in which production of the item being in advance of customer needs that providing the item before the customer order it. For example five star restaurant in which you are seated at a table and offered a menu, you can choose from the menu some soup or deserts, that can be prepared in advanced and brought just before servings, but there are items like the salads and the main course can’t be done like that, after you order it the chef begin
