This case shows the way that Daniel Shivitz, the manager of a small business called the Copy Center, manages his business in a profitable way on a Path Goal theory based. Daniel is a very effective manager who has been very successful at fulfilling his employees’ needs and complementing his management style with the employees’ work style. Shivitz has a business divided into two departments which both required of different skills, responsibilities and tasks. Shivitz has been able to incorporate his leadership knowledge to fit best the personalities of this two group of employees, hence his employees feel happy to work with him and see their work as a second family. The happiness of his employees is reflected on the success of his business, being above the other two other businesses in the area.
Effectiveness of Daniel’s Leadership Style According to Path-Goal theory Daniel is an effective leader, because he was able to incorporate the principles of this theory diverged from the expectancy theory. He motivated his employees in cases where they felt incompetent (duplicating service), he also rewarded his employees every time they did something good by working with an schedule that wont conflict with their school time (Part time employees/full time students). Daniel Also provided direction with a psychological structure towards his students-employees. His work environment was very supportive and his employees felt
