Jude, wary of Mia and Lexi’s friendship, gets to know Lexi better, when Jude hears about Lexi’s past, she is filled with sorrow and grief for Lexi, but is still unsure of their friendship. When Lexi assures Jude that she would never hurt Mia, Jude opens Lexi into her life with open arms, aware of her past and home life. (Hannah 32)
As Zach and Lexi’s relationship continues to grow throughout the story, Lexi finds it hard for them to grow as a couple because it’s hard for her to trust and open up to him after all she has been through. She is tired of being hurt, but also wants something more with Zach.
