Once he was finished with high school he earned a scholarship from Southern Mississippi which was the only scholarship offered to him. During his freshman year he started the season as a seventh string quarterback. Favre looked to take over the starting position in the first half of the third game. Although suffering a hangover he led the team to a comeback win. In his third season with the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles Favre upset the 6th ranked Florida State Seminoles. Brett Favre threw the game winning pass with just 23 seconds left as he put up a six and a half minute drive. Just before Brett Favre’s senior year start he had one of the scariest things happen in his life. Brett Favre lost control of his car going around a turn near his house. His car flipped three times and finally stopped resting on a tree. One of Brett’s brothers busted the window out and was taken to a hospital on an ambulance. On the ride to the hospital Favre just kept asking his mom if he will ever be able to play football again. Favre had to get emergency surgery and the doctors removed thirty inches of his intestines. Favre then hosted a comeback win over the Alabama Rolling Tide. After the game Alabama Head coach Gene Stallings said “You can call it a miracle or a legend or whatever you want. I just know on that day Brett Favre was larger than life.” At the end of Favre’s career at Southern Mississippi he holds a bunch of records and earned a…

On May, 8, 2015 I sat in front of a glowing T.V. watching the Cleveland Cavaliers play Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. The clock was down to three seconds and the Bulls had the ball on the left sideline. The scoreboard read 96-96 as Derrick Rose caught the ball at the top of the key. Derrick released the ball with a flick of his wrist and sent it towards the hoop. The ball rotated backboard was illuminated by a bright cherry colored light as the time expired on the clock. The basketball rotated through the air in a paced that seemed to be slow motion. The ball hit the glass and fell into the net softly. Derrick’s teammates rushed the court to celebrate with an excited look on their face, but Derrick had a look on his face that didn’t show…

My favorite sports star is Tom Brady, he is one of the best quarterbacks of all time, well in my opinion he is the best quarterback. Tom is pretty slow and old, he has one of the best arms in the league right now. As for the most part, I have been a Patriots fan since I was in 3rd grade due to the fact that I thought they were a really good team who won tons of games. I would always watch every Patriots game with my dad. I remember one time my dad took me to a Patriots game and I remember seeing Tom Brady and I was so excited. Afterward, the Patriots led on to win the game against the dolphins. Some quarterbacks only have 1 or 2 Super Bowl rings, but Brady has 5. People are calling him “the goat”, which stands for ‘greatest of all time’. In…

At the age of seven, Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) was separated from his drug-addicted mom and was tossed from foster home to foster home throughout Memphis, Tennessee. A door had finally opened for Michael when his friend’s father got him accepted to a private Christian school in the suburbs of Memphis. Despite his horrible grades, he was admitted and placed on the football team. One night after a Thanksgiving play, Leigh Ann Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) sees Michael in the rain, shivering in the cold. She offers him a place to sleep for the night. That one night began the rest of his life! The Tuohy family immediately welcomes Michael into their home and family. Sean Tuohy Sr. (Tim McGraw) and Leigh Ann gained guardianship of Michael and got him on the straight and narrow path. Because he became an instant hit on the football field, it was imperative that he raised his grade point average to a 2.5 to be eligible for NCAA Division I scholarships. The Tuohy’s then hired a tutor. With the help of Michael’s teachers and his tutor, he graduated high school with a 2.52 grade point average with a full-ride to Ole Miss University where the Tuohy’s had also attended.
