In document 5 it states that nobody can commit murder, arson, robbery, or assault, or injure anybody with a weapon during any fast day. It also states that if people are fighting on these fast days, they should stop and only attack back if the enemy attacks them first (Document 5). This statement from the Truce of God meant that nobody would disturb the peace and no problems should arise amongst Christians. These also serve as some of the rules that Christians must live by, which means that they are very peaceful and kind people. In document 8 it states that Brother Gerald vows purity, chastity, and poverty (Document 8). This means that Christian monks and nuns had to vow to be peaceful and not cause problems. This also shows that many Christians were kind and considerate towards others by being in poverty and giving privileges to others in need. This tells us that most Christians were selfless and peaceful during the middle ages.
Overall, the Middle Ages was the period from about 500 to 1450. This was because it was the period which came between the fall of Rome and the start of the modern era. Although many can argue that the middle ages were a Dark Age, this period can best be labeled as an age of faith because of the great extent of authority the Catholic church had, the result of Pope Urban II’s call of the Crusades, and the peace and tranquility that the church brought throughout
