Miguel Gomez Chapter Summaries
Chapter 1: Miguel Gomez is 9 years old and lives in Guadalupe, Mexico. Miguel lives with his mother and father in the apartment. His childhood was great, he had friends at school, he had amazing teachers, and everyone in the community knows him and his family.

Miguel loves baseball at a young age, he enjoys playing and watching baseball every day. He told his father that one day, he would be a baseball legend. His father took him every day to the baseball park to practice, Miguel was great at playing baseball and he is proud of him.

Chapter 2: New struggles Miguel’s mother receives a call from a worker that explains Miguel’s father died, he recently died in a mechanical accident at the factory. Her heart dropped, crying so much that she dropped

Miguel’s mother feels sad about the accident with her husband, but she will always remember that he is in a good place now.

Chapter 5: Finding Hope One day at practice in the baseball park, a coach came across him and saw his terrific and outstanding baseball skills. The coach walked towards him and told him to be part of the baseball team since he is good at playing baseball. Miguel told him that he would love to be involved in the baseball team.

Miguel was so excited that he began to have racing thoughts of excitement. Miguel starts to imagine becoming a famous baseball player.

Chapter 6: Falling Point After his baseball practice, he raced home and told his mom about the good news. Miguel’s mother was very happy for her son, but once they searched for their local baseball team, it cost a lot of money to the point where she can’t afford it.

Miguel was furious and upset that he ran to his room and slammed the door. He began to lose faith and hope in his baseball life. But he can’t forget his father’s words and decided not to give up and continue to fight.

Chapter 7: Surprise gift High school is almost finished for Miguel, he got all straight A’s and won a lot of awards throughout the school year which makes his mother very proud of
