to learn the basics of successful military. That soldier learns what they are responsible for on a personal level. Understanding the Army Values, physical fitness, appearance and grooming standards, accountability, and education are integral to soldiers upholding the standards and traditions of the Army and forming a sturdy leadership model.
Every Soldiers becomes familiar to what the Army Values are, but it takes time to fully comprehend what each one means.
What does it mean to be loyal to the United States of America and your Comrades? What does my commitment to duty help the organization achieve? How do apply respect to my seniors, peers and subordinates? How do I selflessly sacrifice for the great good of the mission? How do I honor those who have fallen before me? Does my concept of integrity help of detriment the force? Do I have the personal courage to face adversity in the face of the enemy? Soldiers should dwell on these and various concepts surrounding these values to enlighten themselves and others.
Physical fitness is an event conducted at the lowest level, the individual. The Army has physical fitness programs implemented to sustain a mission ready level of fitness, but the Soldier needs to seek a higher level of fitness to ensure they are at the maximum levels of fighting capability. In doing so, they will facilitate the active mission readiness capability of their unit and inspire all those around them to achieve the
same.
All of these tenants of leadership have one thing in common. None of it can be accomplished without communication. If we don’t learn how to effectively communicate our experiences and professionalism, the message will get lost to those we need to convey it to. Make sure we talk to each other so we don’t have to guess what one another is thinking at any time. Remember that you are the current and future leaders of this United States Army, and you have to remember that whatever you say, whatever you do, and whatever you teach will be the example you have for which all Soldiers will follow. Live the Army Values. Stay Army.
