Indian womenswear market is undergoing a transformation in the past decade, and is growing at an optimistic pace. Increasing number of working women, increase in the level of their disposable income, has motivated the growth of this segment. Womenswear is complicated over menswear as its trends are capricious, and keep changing quickly. womenswear market has taken a new dimension with the entry of many new as well as foreign brands.Premium labels such as Allen Solly,Esprit,Zara and Mango and Indian brands like W,fabindia,Bioba,Vipu,satya paul,etc has a solid market. Many manufacturers who were initially concentrating only on men's wear have started to focus more on the formal wears for women.Raymond has established its women’swear brand through its flagship brand 'Park Avenue', and its casual wear with the label 'Color Plus'.

Ethnic Indian wears like salwar suits also add to it. As the number of working women increase, market for fusion wear and western wear are likely to grow simultaneously.
