The society our days is interested in being fashionable and trendy. That means that there is a big interest of clothing retailing shops and Matalan is not an exception.
Fashion is one of the main forces that make people buy more and more clothes. Many shops promote their new collections by displaying them on the windows and by showing them in television advertisements, so that people can see new season’s trends and choose the shop where they want to buy them. Fashion can influence people through fashion magazines and women magazines. Some of fashion magazines like “Stylist” you can get for free, where are lots of advertisements of different brands and companies. They are publishing fashionable photos. As a result people get informed about new trends in fashion. Also publishing photos of celebrities has its influence on society. By seeing famous people wearing unique looks, people are trying to imitate their dressing style.
Another important force that influences people’s buying habits is price. The cost of clothing in UK market has been changing for a number of years. There are two most important and cheap fashion importers – China and Far East. They provide market with lower-cost clothing; because of this fact consumers have increased their overall purchasing of garments. This affects female consumers during last year. Women started to buy substantially much more clothes. The popularity of low-cost clothing has roughly increased over last couple of years, with shops such as Matalan enjoying phenomenal success on the high street through their skill of replicating catwalk trends within little time and at a minimal price. The majority of Matalan’s customers are women and having great value of fashion clothes for every day and going out for a great price makes the shop more attractive to them.
