On the other hand, the bright side of greed is
ambition. We could define it as the motivation and determination to strive for the accomplishment of something, even in the face of failure and adversity. It is important to establish a distinction between the meaning of greed and ambition, since this two concepts are misunderstood and the idea of being ambitious corrupts itself and becomes avaricious. We can relate this theory to Machiavelli´s philosophy “The end justifies the means.” This is due to the fact that nowadays our society is going through a beliefs crisis and it gets easily mistaken, since most people consider their happiness to be tied to the material possession and the public recognition. This does not change the fact that people want to reach for the highest in a morally correct way, but those morals are alienated and people cannot find the right path. Greed attempts to fulfill the needs of men, but it cannot because it leaves out a big part of what makes up a human being, which is looking out for others. This idea of selflessness is part of human nature, and going against it, is unnatural. Therefore, it is wrong, since greed strips off any possibility of achieving the best version of ourselves. Hence we should fight against the desire and the selfishness, and fight towards reaching our highest potential so that others can enjoy its benefits.
