Misjudging: Need to Know and Worth Reading
Misjudging Each one of us has judged a book by its cover. We think that it wouldn’t be worth reading because the outside doesn’t look as cool and as popular as certain other books. As soon as you read it, however, you found out you were wrong. It was probably one of the best books you have ever read. Most of the time people judge when they don’t have the whole story. We judge someone because they look different and don’t have the same appearance as we are accustomed to. They might look scary, lonely, or stuckup when they really are nice and polite. Judging a person shouldn’t be about their appearance and if they are pleasing to the eye. It should be about what is on the inside that really matters.
People absolutely misjudge things they don’t understand. Judging is inevitable. It is part of who we are and what we do. But we shouldn’t embrace society’s stereotypes, where we are expected to think or act the same. We shouldn’t judge by appearance, beliefs, religion, race, background and personalities. We should, if we do judge, judge righteous and tactfully.
Your words should be encouraging and helpful, not damaging and designed to bring someone down. Born Bad

Our society and environment does have an influence on who we are. This includes the type of home we live in and who our friends are. Home is a big part of who we are. What are we exposed to? Kindness or anger? These words have two different meanings and two different outcomes. Our parents also play a role in who we become. Parents are responsible to teach their kids the things they need to know to be successful in life. Many parents will teach their children that stealing and cheating is wrong. Not only will they tell them, they will teach their children by their example. But those who don’t know that cheating and stealing is wrong might believe that it is allowed because they saw someone else do it.
People aren’t born bad. Actions make you who you are and what you

Books, they take you on a journey. A journey of fear, hope, adventure, love and sadness. Some books are fiction, and others take you on a real adventure where things that seem completely fake are real. They take us away from our air conditioned, comfortable homes and take us to a completely different place; one of those books are A Long Walk to Water (Linda Sue Park). Some other books have real world problem but is a made up story, one of these books are Rules (Cynthia Lord). These books are extremely different, but in many ways they’re the same.…

As Judith Ortiz Cofer says in her essay “mixed cultural signals have perpetuated certain stereotypes” (49). Since something can be natural in a determined culture and offensive in another, it is easy to find a variety of behaves that are misunderstood. This misunderstood is what promotes the existence of prejudice. The stereotypes should be ignored and forgotten by people. Each individual should be judge by its work and personality, and not by its clothes, physical appearance or place of origin. People should know better about distinct culture before believe in stereotypes.…

I think we, as humans, “discriminate” one another because it’s in our nature. When we are trying to figure out where we fit in this world, we desire to look like and portray what we aspire to be, and because we have so many diverse interests, ultimately it causes us to separate ourselves amongst each other. While one person may choose to associate themselves with someone who is clean cut and modest, another person could very well want to befriend someone whose body resembles an art canvas. People come from different backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles, so there will always be a difference in the way people act, dress, and look. There will always be some kind of discrimination in the world, whether it be racial, sexual, religious, or in this case, looks and physical attributes.…

Sadly, this is probably what the world’s new generation of children would be like if some kids are designed by their parents and others are not. Children would not only feel bad about themselves, but they would blame their inabilities on their parents for not designing them to be something better than they are meant to be.…

Recently on the internet, there has been a meme circling around. It starts with a person about to engage in something ridiculous, such as shaving their eyebrows, cutting their hair, etc. However, they stop at the last second, turning to the camera to say, “Don’t ever judge a book by its cover.” Though this meme is purely for entertainment purposes, the concept of making unfair judgements has been around for generations. Consequently, ample authors use the theme of not judging others in their works. For example, in Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare, the character Isabella argues that, “We cannot weigh our brother with ourself” (2.2.156). This quote can be interpreted in quite a few different ways, but the two that are the most prominent are that you cannot compare the actions of one human being to another, and that the only person you have the right to judge is yourself.…

Nothing is what it seems, including people. People judge other people by their appearances and actions without even knowing people. We see this theme a couple times in the book “To Kill A Mockingbird”, by Harper Lee. Harper Lee’s appearance message shows that people judge based on looks but the rumors and looks are never trusting.…

Traditional family values are quickly becoming a thing of the past. In her article Ms. Smiley states, "And don 't the parents love their children anyway, whether the children vacuum or not?" This is insinuating that the only reason parent’s love their kids, is because of the work they do. To that I say it 's because we love our kids we assign them chores. This helps them learn responsibility. The Bible says, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). It 's not just about teaching our children what the Word says, but we must show them in our relationship with them.…

Parents are their children's first teachers. It is from parents that children learn about their culture, values, and language. Parents play a very valuable role in their children's education in and out of the classroom. Because of this reason, parents need to take on the challenge and provide their children the tools they will need in order to be successful in school and life. Education does not only involve acquiring academic qualifications it also involves learning how to be a productive member of society, it involves how to behave in social settings, it involves learning how to figure everyday problems, and so much more. By talking to their children, parents can help them increase their vocabulary, they help their children in their receptive and expressive language, and they help their children feel empowered.
