Film Trailer Analysis Miss Representation Trailer shows how media affects the American society on evaluating women. But, the trailer suggests that the media can also be the instrument of changes in the views of women. It begins with a statistic study which contains a result of how American teenagers spend more than 10 hours a day on media. The media is a primary source of making our society and has a strong impact on developing the brain, emotions, and social behaviors of teenagers. Women in America are evaluated by the looks despite their abilities, intellectuals, and positions. The trailer explains how the society exploits the value of women on their looks with demeaning images. The merchandised sex of women is a result of the Capitalism which provokes women to feel insecure. The trailer concludes by mentioning every woman has to be treated equally as a human being through the way of controlling media. In this video, many images and dialogues are usually used to explain the main purpose. Miss Representation Trailer is presented in various ways, such as statistics, dialogues, images, advertisements, and movies.These methods express the purpose of the video efficient to the audiences. It contains a lot of statistics to support and make clear the main idea, so the audiences believe that it is trustworthy. For example, there is a statistic that people are exposed to the media more than 10 hours. From this statistic, the video maker shows how important the media is. Second, America is composed of 51% women. But, only 17% women comprise Congress. This statistic describes that most American have a mind of gender discrimination that women are inferior to men.
