The images that are displayed throughout this trailer is focused mainly on the disparage of women. For example, in the trailer there is pictures of naked women that are holding products that a company wishes to advertise. There is a video in the trailer (4:34) that shows a woman in lingerie being shot by a man. The representation of a woman wearing a lingerie could represent her sexuality which can be considered attractive to some viewers. The representation of her laying in the floor dead, next to a man aiming his gun at her, displays a message of weakness and vulnerability towards the woman. Unfortunately, the image of a weak and attractive female is what consumers enjoy viewing and buying. The disparage of women is what consumers seem to desire and that has an effect in the way society view and treat women.
Jackson Katz is an educator and filmmaker that also took part in this film. Katz stated,”People learn more from the media than any other single source of information, so if you want to understand what is going on in our society in the twenty-first century, we have to understand the media.” The connotation from his statement is that if violent images are being displayed in the media, that correlates with the way our society is functioning present day. When the abuse and disparage of women is accepted in the media, then society as a whole accepts the denigration of
