The clean-up operation is thus a comprehensive effort by Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Citizens, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board as well as NGOs, as the complex nature of land use suggests. The steps to be taken to minimize pollution are as follows, 1) Provide sewerage system on both the banks of the river so that the sewage is collected and treated at various locations.
